William "Bill" Ashley

Beloved coach and entrepreneur who moved west after captaining Dartmouth' ski team. While earning a master' at the University of Wyoming he helped start the ski racing program and served as both coach and competitor. In Jackson he co-owned Jackson Sporting Goods, later ran Snow King Ski School, and opened Teton Village Sports (1965). Race chairman for the Junior National Ski Championships (1954 & 1963) and an Olympic race official (1980). Coached JHSC athletes across downhill, slalom, GS, jumping, and XC for decades.
