Devotastic Week!

Coach Libby sent in some more great pictures and reported that it has been a Devotastic week! Donut relay races with Teewinots, laps in Woolsey Woods, skiing to Crater Lake from the Old Pass Road then all the way back to Trail Creek, and even getting some Oreos while learning trail etiquette, what a week and thanks Coach Libby!

You can have a fantastic day if you come out for a Nordic ski today at Trail Creek.  The Husky has been hard at it with some pretty favorable results.  We have picked up from a dusting to nearly an inch of snow across the trails last night. Pretty much every trail except for Cle’s Climb, Faceplant, and the East Fields received a skate/classic pass with Moose Loop and the Close Field receiving multiple passes.  Homeward and Outward Bound are weak, but if you get beyond them things are nice. The Nordic X also got another shot today.

Temps are supposed to be slightly cooler over the next few days with a small chance of snow.  The Yellowstone Rendezvous Race is this weekend, registration is still open.  It should be a fantastic event and excuse for a road trip with 600 skiers usually attending.

Groomer’s choice for today is Moose Loop.

February 26th Grooming Report

Snowy Cabin Edition!

While the season is far from over, the 2025–2026 Nordic season has been nothing if not bizarre. Although precipitation has remained moderate, we’ve seen an unusual number of warm days for this corner of Wyoming. Despite the late start, we have been blessed with many fantastic days on the snow—and we’re hopeful that streak continues deep into spring.

We’ve posted comparison photos from early and late February; while early February mirrored the record lows of 2018, we have made measurable progress since then. It’s always fascinating to see the year-to-year variance, and we’re still holding out hope for a late-season "about-face" that could rival the legendary snow totals of 2019.

Today’s Husky grooming covered most trails except for Cle’s Climb, Faceplant, and Mug’s Meadow. Most of the woods received a single skate/classic pass while the fields received multiple passes.  Initial grooming in the woods came up a bit chunky after recent days of snow and rain, but should ski nicely.  By the time grooming moved to the fields, the snow was warm enough to lay down into some lovely corduroy.

Groomer’s choice for today is to enjoy the fantastic sunshine and warm temps in the East Fields.
