Rules & Regulations
Teams:
- Racers must be 18+ years old
- Each team consists of 4-6 racers
- The first 5 Team's Racers are constant for the entire season and only the 6th can be substituted. We made this change this year because we know its hard to get 6 people locked it therefore giving each team a little flexibility if they don't have 4 racers to compete!
- Racers 1-5 CANNOT be substituted (it says it twice for a reason)
- If a racer is injured, they may be replaced for the remainder of the season.
- Substituting a racer for even ONE event run will result in the disqualification of the team's season ranking.
- Team must be paid in full before race #1. Venmo is a great option for sharing payment on the back end.
Scoring:
- Race results are scored by gender
- Each racer will be assigned points descending from 20-1, beginning with 20 for first place. After every 20 places, the points “restart,” i.e. a racer finishing 21st, 41st, 61st, 81st, etc. gets 20 points - the same amount as the 1st place finisher, and so on.
- The best 4 point-scoring racers will be used for each team’s weekly score
- DNF and DQs will result in a score of zero
- Hiking is permitted, and the time will post as long as the proper passage is made
- Each team will receive a total score for each race that will count toward the overall series results
Ties:
- Should any two teams within the top three overall tie in points, the following method will be used to break the tie: the fifth pointed team result within each race will be added to each race's calculation for a new, overall point total. The team with the higher amount of points wins. Should the teams still tie, the sixth pointed team result within each race will be added to each race calculation. Should the teams STILL tie, the winner will be decided by a good old-fashioned bare-knuckle brawl. ...just kidding!
Results/Posting:
- Results will be posted to the Event page on the JHSC website following each race
- Cumulative points for the entire series by the team will be used to determine winners.
